#2 – Defender standing on teammate’s back to gain extra height defending.

This rule had quite a discussion going.  10 points for trying something new!

Unfortunately the netball rules state that a player’s feet must be three feet away from their opponent to be able to defend the ball.  Ruling – this action is quite legal…  Both players must be three feet away.

I see this as quite dangerous – injury waiting to happen, especially to the poor defender on her knees.  As you hear in the movies when an escape artist perform a trick tied with ropes under the water – “don’t try this at home”!!
