Minor Infringements: Short Pass

When a player passes the ball there must be sufficient space for an opposing player on the court to be able to intercept the ball with a hand as it moves from the hands of the thrower to those of the receiver.

(Even if I don’t give the opportunity for interception of a defender.)

Where is the sanction taken?

Free Pass where the THROWER was standing.

(This pass mostly happens between shooters and centre court players)

  1. Is a short pass still sanctioned when a free pass or penalty pass is awarded and then another team member takes the ball from the hands of the player at the infringement site?

    1. With a short pass the sanction is a Free Pass and any player allowed in that area can take the Free Pass.
