Throw In: no.1 – Playing from Off Court

Playing from Off Court

This rule is mostly infringed because a player passes the ball to his/her teammate too soon.  They don’t give the player a chance to first enter the court before they pass the ball.

This mostly happen on the goal line when a shooter reposition out of court (around the goal post) to retrieve the ball after entering the court – meaning stepping on to the court without having any contact with the court surround when catching the ball.

Rule:

“A player who is partly or wholly in the court surround must re-enter the court and have no contact with the court surround before playing the ball.”

Action: Throw In by the opposing team in line with where the player last had contact with the court surround before playing the ball.
